We look back at a week where two technology innovation events took place in our country, The Netherlands, namely the Dutch Technology Week and the kick-off of the European Start-Up Fest.
The Dutch Technology Week offered several opportunities to the general public, from youngsters to adults, to get engaged with the newest technological innovations, such as touching and feeling the opportunities of technology in the Permanent Future Lab and the ‘Night of the Nerds’, showing how fascinating the world of creativity, technology and innovation is. The event also offered designing and engineering professionals the chance to learn and meet the possibilities of 3D printing, and to look at design challenges from different perspectives. On the other hand, the kick-off of the European Start-Up Fest brought together founders, investors, business leaders, and developers around specific themes, with well-known speakers as the CEOs of Uber, Apple, and Google were present. Uber took the opportunity to pitch UberPitch, a service giving prospective entrepreneurs the chance to take a ride with investors and possibly win investment for their companies, whereas Apple revealed the Apple Watch holy grail, being able to monitor more and more of what’s going in the human body.
Some of our favorite technological innovations did not make it to the stage last week. So let us grab the opportunity and present to you: the VR painting tool of Samsung, the 3D printing pen of Google, and something a bit more practical (as well as hilarious): Notifly, a wearable technology tool that warns you… when your fly is down.
