It was a busy November month at SparkOptimus. Next to our day-to-day activities, we hosted three Round Tables for CEOs and Senior Executives from varying industries, delving into topics that are currently relevant for them.
The first Round Table was specifically for CEOs of online Pure Players, with attendees such as Patrick Kerssemakers (CEO and co-founder of Fonq.nl), Philipp Goos (CEO of Zoover), and Niek Veendrick (CEO of Greetz). The focus of the evening was „how to set up your organization for continuous growth,“ where we presented conclusions from the SparkOptimus benchmark for organizational capacity. Also, Bastiaan Hagenouw, the founder of fietsenwinkel.nl, shared his experience with growing his successful business.
For our second Round Table we shifted the focus to retailers. SparkOptimus presented about „common pitfalls and success factors in omnichannel transformations,“ and this was complemented by presentations from Ton Anbeek (CEO Beter Bed) and Gordon Scholz (CEO MediaMarkt NL), who detailed their journeys in setting up omnichannel operations in their respective companies. Attendees included Selma Postma (GM Albert Heijn online), Harm-Jan Stoter (GM Intergamma), and AndrĂ© ten Wolde (CEO Domino’s pizza).
During our latest Round Table we dove deeper into a trend that we have been seeing a lot of lately: „producers setting up Direct-to-Consumer propositions.“ We had people attending from many different industries, including FMCG, consumer electronics, and finance, such as John Brands (Country Director NL Jacobs Douwe Egberts), Maarten Schuurman (Senior Director Global Sales Execution & Capabilities Heineken), and Bart Kuppens (Vice-President Digital Transformation Unilever). SparkOptimus presented best practices for building winning Direct-to-Consumer propositions, and Madeleen Klaassen (CMO Bugaboo) illustrated Bugaboo’s experience with launching suitcases as a new international Direct-to-Consumer business.
We’re looking forward to the next Round Tables in 2017!
