From playing a free-roam VR game with my colleagues to exploring the streets of Sicily and slopes of Mayrhofen together… Looking back on 2018 – my first full year at SparkOptimus – I realize that it was a rewarding, sometimes challenging, but above all, fun-packed year.
Over nine months, I witnessed a venture evolve from ‘just’ a business case on paper to an actual omnichannel (web)shop. I also saw a theoretical organogram turn into a motivated, 10-strong founding team. But what made this journey particularly memorable, was the fact that I didn’t just see it all unravel, but was really a part of it.
Together with our clients, we discovered the unserved needs of the end-consumer and defined how they could stay relevant by differentiating themselves. We jointly figured out how technology could help them reach this position, and overcame the organizational struggle of pivoting business ideas in a corporate environment.
In 2019, I am looking forward to continuing to explore these kinds of new business models, driven by the possibilities of technology, and to helping even more clients seize these opportunities. Not just observing from the sideline, but getting stuck in, together. After all, a simple online presence won’t cut it anymore. So, what will give you the right to exist in 2019?
