Thursday 14th March another SparkOptimus Masterclass ‘Make Disruption Work for you’ took place. This time associate partner Rob Wiggelinkhuizen was one of the presenters and gave the 20+ enthusiastic participants from various companies. tools and pragmatic hands-on advice for converting disruption into growth for their company.
Rob: “The day’s agenda centred on the ‘5D-model’: discover, define, describe, drive & delight. Through the programme, participants learned more about the possibilities and impact of technological developments, and how these innovations give rise to better customer propositions and new business models. The Masterclass was also a great opportunity for meeting peers who are also facing similar challenges. For me personally, hearing all these different perspectives helps understand what enables certain industries to innovate faster than others (external) – and how different organisational set-ups either accelerate or slow down growth (internal). “
How to build disruptive organisations
“During this Masterclass, I led the group through our thinking and experiences on how to build disruptive organisations – a theme that is very present in the mind of many business leaders working nowadays. We often hear questions asking ‘where disruption should sit within the organisation’, ‘how to avoid smothering innovation by the running of the business’, and ‘whether a Chief Digital Officer is needed’. In addition to these questions, we discussed certain characteristics of disruptive organisations and some common pitfalls. The group exchanged views and experiences on tracking customer KPIs (i.e. making sure you track the right thing and put the data into action), organising multi-disciplinary teams and attracting and retaining the right talent. The day ended with drinks and some lively discussion around the concepts covered throughout the day. For me, this provided a good opportunity to support some of the participants in tailoring the insights from the Masterclass to their specific challenges.”
The next SparkOptimus Masterclass will take place on 3rd October. For more information and to reserve your spot, visit www.sparkoptimus.com/masterclass.
