On June 22, a group of M&S directors and e-commerce managers attended a discussion of the Shopping Tomorrow Expert Group on Direct Brands. Since two years SparkOptimus chairs this expert group and it was great to see how the interest for brands to join this group is clearly increasing! A.o. Philips, Auping, JDE, FrieslandCampina, SONOS and Dyson were sharing insights on how to determine their preferred online mix of sales channels and how to differentiate their webshop from (r)etailers. Bol.com gave an interesting presentation about their Plaza Model: currently >30% of their annual revenue comes from Plaza. We are looking forward to the next working session in September.
