Recently, the entire SparkOptimus team was invited for a visit to the Rijksmuseum, one of the most inspiring museums in the Netherlands. The invitation was the result of a close collaboration over recent years between the Rijksmuseum and SparkOptimus.
Nowadays, museums are looking for ways to engage with their visitors and provide them with the best possible experience. SparkOptimus has assisted the Rijksmuseum on several occasions with digital to reach this goal. You can read more about one of these cases about the online sales ticket boosting for the internationally acclaimed âLate Rembrandtâ exhibition in our case study.
Upon arrival to the museum with our team we were welcomed by Robert van Langh, head of Conservation & Restauration at the museum. Robert is an expert in the field of restoring and conserving precious metals having worked at multiple prominent art institutions among which the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles. During his introduction he engagingly told the team about new technologies being used in the Rijksmuseumâs research department such as deep neural network techniques in image research, led by world-renowned scientist Robert Erdmann.
Afterwards, the SparkOptimus team received an inspiring tour during which some of the most prominent works of the collection were highlighted and enthusiastically discussed by the passionate guides. For one SparkOptimus team member who recently moved from Belgium to join the team it was his first visit to the museum. âIt was a great experience to visit the Rijksmuseum for the first time and discovering the close link between Belgium and the Netherlands throughout history by moving from one art piece to the other. I will definitely come back for another visit to see more of the astonishing collection.â
The entire team would like to thank the Rijksmuseum for their warm welcome and interesting tour.
