A special edition of ‘Make disruption work for you’
On the 25th of September, we organized another Make disruption work for you Masterclass. Since our co-founder Alexandra Jankovich made it onto the TheNextWomen100 list for the second time this May, we invited some of the other successful businesswomen on this list to join us. These women got the opportunity to learn more about digital disruption and how to use it as a powerful asset in their businesses.
TheNextWomen100
TheNextWomen100 identifies the hundred most successful and influential female entrepreneurs in The Netherlands. This year, the list was compiled with a focus on women who dare to be great and who dare to take risks: women who have become role models for the next generation of ambitious women.
Congratulations to two of TheNextWomen100 2018: Maartje van Wijk and Esther van Diepen. Both ladies attended our masterclass, and we’re curious as to how they experienced the day. What valuable insights did they gain, and what digital disruption learnings will they be applying to their own companies?
“The masterclass is a must for anyone in retail and e-commerce.”
– Maartje van Wijk, Founder & Managing Partner at Wenneker Group & listed in TheNextWomen100
“It is essential for any professional to be aware of digital transformations. This message was reinforced during the masterclass through clear examples. It was interesting to delve into the topic a little deeper. I’m always eager to learn and it was a delight to listen to the experience of other professionals in their field of work. It opened my eyes – in more ways than one.
Even if you aren’t in a position to make significant changes within your business right now, it’s crucial that you know how digital transformation could affect your work and industry in the near future. New technological developments impact any sector. Looking at other industries and companies helps you up your game. It’s a great reminder to stay open to new possibilities and to consider the implications for your business.
The masterclass was an enriching experience. I would advise anyone in a management role, in whatever industry, to attend one.”
Maartje van Wijk is Managing Director of 5 companies dedicated to delivering high-quality film content for Global Brands and leading Ad agencies.
How to practice what you preach
The main objective behind our masterclass is to find out what disruption can do for you. We discuss the essential steps in preparing a company for disruption, based on our 5D-model: discover, define, determine, drive and delight. Not only do we cover the ‘what’, we also take it a step further by giving you the tools for the ‘how’.
“Clear examples and proof points enable you to identify opportunities for your own business.”
– Esther van Diepen, Founder of Mom in Balance & SHE Performance & listed in TheNextWomen100
“Sometimes you wonder what real benefit digital innovations can offer your business. How does it work? Is it really worth it? And what will it add? The masterclass helped me identify clear opportunities and get a better grip on what digital disruption means for my companies.
I was especially inspired by the business cases and detailed examples from the speakers throughout the day. The changes and innovations they introduced in their fields of work are a trigger and motivation for me to do the same in my sector.
The book ‘Make disruption work’, which I was introduced to during the masterclass, was a pleasant surprise for me, too. The 5D-model and 5 steps offer such a clear framework for making disruption work. The book explains it all so well. It’s truly inspirational and makes you want to take action. I would recommend both the book and the masterclass to professionals I work alongside closely.”
Esther is the founder of Mom in Balance & SHE Performance. Her ambition is to empower women all over the world to get the most out of themselves and balance their roles as a fun and loving caretaker, friend, partner and power professional.
