In order to make sure our consultants are always on top of the latest digital developments, we regularly invite tech companies to present during lunch. In these Lunch & Learns companies elaborate about their latest product developments, business or propositions. This way we ensure we are always aware of the latest tech solutions, and know which solution will serve our customers best. This week, it was up to Microsoft!
Armand Bloem, managing digital advisor at Microsoft, joined us to talk about Microsoft’s cloud solution: Azure. The software suite is designed to combine data, analytics and cloud services to help enable digital transformation for their clients.
After the introduction into their products we discussed several of its user cases, where data analysis and their technology improved business propositions. One such case involves the development of Real Madrid’s digital sports platform, where Microsoft combines multiple services to provide an integral solution. They enabled the football club using Power BI to fully understand their fans needs, Visual Studio to deliver them a personalized experience, and Office and Dynamics software to realize the project. In another case Microsoft supported Uber in verifying the identity of their drivers using Microsoft’s face recognition API, a part of Microsoft cognitive services.
Of course, our eager consultants took it upon themselves to ignite discussions on the potential impact of technological developments, such as AR, IoT & AI, in the foreseeable future. And, of course, we had to discuss the competition of the clouds between Amazon’s web services, Google’s cloud platform and Microsoft’s Azure.
All in all it was a great lunch and opportunity to learn about the products and services Microsoft is offering. Now we’re already looking forward to the next company to tell us about themselves!
