At SparkOptimus, we believe that your personal development is critical to both the enjoyment you experience in your work and to your career success. That’s why, during your career at SparkOptimus, besides on-the-job learning, you will also receive comprehensive onboarding and specific internal and external training. Both hard and soft skills are key to becoming an all-round Sparkie!
Robert Arends, Associate at SparkOptimus: “Training courses on hard skills are constantly being developed and updated by other colleagues based on the experience they gain through different projects. Training topics include (advanced) consulting skills and (digital) content. Consulting skills training sessions (e.g. problem-solving, slide design, excel modelling, etc.) provide people with the skillsets needed to make a direct impact on clients, while content training sessions provide them with the latest knowledge on (digital) content (e.g. digital marketing, agile development, IT architecture, etc.). Knowledge is transferred in a vibrant and interactive way via training sessions, lunch & learn sessions and knowledge evenings. It’s great fun learning from the digital experts we have in-house!”
“Since teamwork and working with clients are key elements of our work, developing soft skills is just as important. Boost your personal development with training courses on active listening, structured storytelling, presenting with confidence, energy management and many other areas. These courses are delivered partly in-house, and partly in cooperation with external expert trainers. For example, Associates and Senior Associates receive training from Lepaya ( a young and vibrant training company from Amsterdam. They focus on core skills to be more effective in daily work, in a way that’s totally 2019!) and Managers spend an annual weekend in Florence on personal leadership.”
As an Associate, Robert has already had the chance to participate in multiple training courses. He explains: “A steep learning curve sparked my interest in strategy consulting. As a Sparkie, I’m learning new things every day. The onboarding week gives you a kick-start, and there are many other training opportunities after that. Besides the in-house training sessions on Fridays, I participate in the Associate soft skills training provided by Lepaya. These sessions provide me with useful tips and tools I can put straight into practice, all the while enjoying a fun learning experience in the company of my fellow Sparkies!”
