As part of our initiatives to support society during the pandemic, a small team of SparkOptimus consultants is helping two winners of the online hackathon HackTheCrisis Netherlands in scaling their ideas. As soon as the winners were announced in early April, a group of Sparkies started working together with the teams of AnalysisMode and PplCert, who we will support until June. Every couple of weeks, we will give an update on their progress, so stay tuned if you don’t want to miss it!
Speeding up vaccine discovery with gamification
AnalysisMode is a human-based computation platform that facilitates faster vaccine discovery process through a fun and rewarding online game. In just one month, the team created not one, not two, but three fully functioning versions of the game, reaching more than 10k players and growing their number exponentially. The team is led by Tiago Sampaio, a third time startup founder with experience in vaccine research and AI development.
In the last weeks, Lucia Purcaru and Gaia Barbato have been helping them refine their proposition, giving guidance, and becoming their challengers and sparring partners. Most recently, Gaia and Lucia helped AnalysisMode prepare their pitch deck for a potential investor, as they are looking to secure the funding necessary to grow and for their revolutionary idea to take off. What’s next? SparkOptimus will continue helping them sharpen their proposition, business model and go-to-market strategy, and we’re excited to see their rocket-speed development!

Developing a validation platform for medical products
PplCert is in the early stages of developing a solution to validate medical products made by yet uncertified suppliers through reviews by trusted users. Rosanne Klerx, the founder of PplCert, came up with this solution during the Hackathon itself. Since then, she has been working on sharpening and refining the concept, as well as taking it to more hackathons to get further input. Lucia and Gaia have been working with Rosanne, coaching her and helping her to move forward by sharing their experience in developing a customer-first proposition. She still has some openings in the team, so reach out to her if you’re motivated to join!
