Emilie’s interest in digital stems from how new technologies can change the status quo of societal relations. During her previous work, with focus on Africa, she became intrigued by the stimulating effect of digitization on economic progress in developing countries. During her MSc Political Sociology at the London School of Economics, she researched how social media creates opportunities to decrease the gap between politics and society. During her BA at University College Maastricht and an exchange semester at UC Berkeley, Emilie gained broad academic knowledge of the social sciences and humanities. In her free time, Emilie enjoys traveling, running and painting.
